BOOK-LENGHT INTERVIEW WITH DANIELA DESSÌ

THE MOST FAMOUS ITALIAN SOPRANO
HER CAREER, HER PRIVATE LIFE, THE SPIRITUAL JOURNEY

Singing? Singing is a great act of love, and love is the grounds of life. If that is lacking, everything is lacking.
So Daniela Dessì says, a passionate woman who loves life, nature and music.
Appassionata by Mario Dal Bello is a fresh and engaging book-lenght interview with an international opera star. Daniela Dessì is considered one of the world’s leading sopranos and a reference point for the Verdi, Puccini and Verismo repertoire.
Thanks to the beauty of her voice, a strong technique and an intense dramatic talent, she has been able to perform in more than seventy different operas. This versatility has significantly been underlined when, in 2011, she was awarded with the Prize Belcanto “Celletti”, recognized as an “absolute soprano”.
Five smooth-running chapters trace her childhood, the discovery of her vocation to singing; how she started her career and repertoire by meeting the most famous singers and conductors, when she achieved success and celebrity; lastly, her private life and the spiritual journey.
A biography and an updated discography complete the book.
The book’s structure is intentionally thought as a conversation; other topics are dealt with, such as the new generation of opera singers, the art of interpretation and the relationship with the audience.
